Make no mistake, we are in world class territory. Robert Parker compared the sweet wines of Tirecul as the most notable sweet wines from anywhere in the world.

Production

No one’s really sure why concentration comes from older vines, but here it is in evidence.

Tasting Note

Lovely mix of (very faintly) something old and something new! Antique shops and churches very faintly in the background … Marmalade, peach, pineapple and honey as you move forward through the sensations. Lanolin smooth texture, lovely refreshing acidity nicely integrated and a really fine long finish. Lovely!

Food Recommendations

Blue cheese works well, duck/chicken liver pate is perfect. Nibble some nuts and raisins with it … or honestly just on its own is lovely.

Blend

Semillon and Muscadelle .. usually around 60/40 but can change slightly with vintage and a very minor % of Sauvignon in as well.
