Fresh, light and enjoyable with a delightful and elegant finish.
Bodegas Pinord is a family business which was founded 150 years ago. The Penedés district is situated between Barcelona and Tarragona, with the mountains of Montserrat marking the border in the north and the Mediterranean in the south. The soil is varied, contrasting from chalky clay to sandstone with distinct differences in depth so that the vines may take root. The mild Mediterranean climate is ideal for growing vines, indeed there is evidence that the Romans planted vineyards here. The slightly wetter weather in the valleys means that there is no need for irrigation.
Made in the traditional Champagne method. The first fermentation is carried out in stainless steel vats at around 18-20C. The second fermentation takes place in bottles stored horizontally to maximise contact with the lees. Disgorging takes place after 12 months.
Excellent as an aperitif or with seafood.
