Producer Note

Château Lestrille Capmartin wines are full bodied, with structure and personality. The Château is located at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. Following the philosophy that winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, sustainable winegrowing practices are used in order to respect the balance of the soil. Talented winemaker Estelle Roumage combines strict selection, with a tailor-made approach to vinification. Each parcel is vinified with minimal intervention to respect and optimise the characteristics of the vintage and terroir, with subtle oak ageing, creating charming wines with the utmost appeal.

Vintage

A cool, damp summer nearly hampered the 2014 vintage; fortunately an unusually warm and dry Indian summer rescued the vintage. The fruit was harvested in good health and resulted in aromatic wines with supple tannins.

Vineyard

The vines are cultivated according to "la lutte raisonnée", using sustainable agricultural methods and reducing the amount of chemicals in order to respect the land and its environment. The vines are grown in clay and silt soils.

Winemaking

The grapes were picked at optimum maturity. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Bottling took place after 18 months.

Serving Suggestion

Delicious with roasted red meats, pan fried steak or duck.

Grape

Merlot 81%, Cabernet Sauvignon 19%
