The six hectares of vine covering the beautiful property of Clos Beauregard are situated on the south-eastern boundary of Pomerol where it borders St-Emilion. The soil in this part of Pomerol is of light, filtering, very fine-grained gravel and sand. The vineyard borders Château Beauregard, to which it was attached until the 1930s. In 2011, the Helfrich family took over the property and so began a new chapter in the history of Clos Beauregard.

The 40 year-old vineyard, a tribute to fastidious farming, is 100% Merlot. It is crafted with the high precision demanded by the finest wines. Each parcel is managed to enable the grapes to achieve optimum ripeness, which is determined by their winemakers who taste the grapes regularly whilst they ripen on the vine. When ripe, grapes are hand-harvested and vinified in traditional Bordeaux-style in temperature controlled tanks. This beautifully structured wine reveals its full character as it matures in new French oak casks. In order to optimise the potential of this terroir, Clos Beauregard has been supported by the oenological expertise of Michel Rolland and his team since the 2011 vintage. A real partnership has grown up between the winemakers and Michel’s team, which steps in at the key stages of this lovely wine’s development.
