I ordered a case of wine online as a gift, forgot to indicate that I was the sender, and contacted Wine Poole by phone. Without fuss, and with friendly courtesy, the representative arranged to enclose the short message that I then sent by email. (Subsequently I was told by the recipient's PA that she had never seen him 'so excited and amazed' when opening a gift of wine. This one is clearly a favourite.)

The wine was very good - as I expected. The service was particularly reassuring. It was a real pleasure to receive personal attention from one of the owners as opposed to a pushy youth at a call centre desk, as is often the case from the two or three 'big boys' who are engaged in this type of business.

Service is very important and so is what a company does when things go wrong which is when you really find out if they believe in customer service. When I had courier issues re the delivery Lindsay from Wine Poole was very polite and efficient in assisting its resolution with the phone being answered in a few rings and promises of call backs always being kept. An excellent example of how to treat customers and deal with issues.

I approached Lindsay to recommend and supply wine to accompany the various courses of a dinner party I was holding to celebrate my 30th birthday.
