A light bodied, mouth-watering wine redolent of gooseberry and passion fruit flavours with a zesty and refreshing finish.

Producer Note

Bishop’s Leap has been a firm favourite for our customers for many years. This classic New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc punches above its weight in both style and price. It is made by winemaker Alana McGettigan whose experience as a “flying winemaker” extends to Italy, Sicily and Southern France as well as her native New Zealand.

Vineyard

The vines are grown in deep free draining soils.

Winemaking

The grapes were pressed with minimal skin contact, to maintain the pure fruit flavours. The juice was then cool fermented in stainless steel to retain its freshness and zing.

Tasting Note

A full and crisp wine with intense aromas and flavours of passion fruit, underlying gooseberry and herbal tones. Mouth-watering acidity is balanced by a full flavoured palate that leads to a long lingering finish.

Serving Suggestion

An ideal wine with seafood, a pan-fried seabass or deep-fried whitebait.
