Château Bastor-Lamontagne is located in the commune of Preignac, in the heart of the Sauternes appellation. « Nil sine Fide », the Chateau’s motto is a reminder of the noble past of Bastor-Lamontagne. The property was part of the Royal domaines until 1711. In the 19th century, Mr Amédée Larrieu, who was the owner of Chateau Haut Brion in Pessac, purchased Bastor-Lamontagne. The Helfrich family who has been the owner since 2018 is writing a new page in the history of this Grand Vin. Today the dry white Grands Vins are part of the heritage of the Grands Vins de Bordeaux. Confidence du Château Bastor-Lamontagne is the result of the search for a harmonious balance between the personality of a terroir, the know-how of the winegrower and the expression of the grape varieties. The Sauvignon Gris stands out with its aromatic power. The Sauvignon Blanc is a synonym of freshness, finesse and liveliness, while the Semillon harvested at ultimate ripeness (just before Botrytis appears) reveals all its roundness

Grape Varieties: Sauvignon Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon

Winemaking Process: Vinified and fermented in 300 litre barrels

Ageing: 8 months in 300 litre barrels, of which only one part is new so that the freshness can be preserved, on fine lees, with regular stirring.

Tasting Note: A beautiful pale yellow colour with slightly silvery nuances. The bouquet, which is lightly oaked, displays aromas of mango, pineapple and vanilla. A fine palate, balanced, with notes of ripe exotic fruits and brioche, which reveals the vivacity typical of the Sauvignon grape variety. A ‘‘pleasure wine’’ to be enjoyed with friends for an apéritif or to accompany fresh and delicate dishes.

Food Pairing: Perfect as an aperitif, as an accompaniment to seafood, white meats, a salmon gravlax or fruity desserts
