One of the pioneers of the modern Greek wine revolution Gaia Estate was established in 1994 by Greek winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos. Operating two different wineries they make cutting edge wines in both Nemea and Santorini.

 

Tasting Note:          Explosive minerality with fresh lemon zest on the nose, crisp acidity on the palate and underlying floral notes. Refreshing with a lingering finish and slight hints of saltiness

Style:                       Dry and minerally variety: 100% Assyrtiko

Viticulture:              Assyrtiko is a Mediterranean grape variety that grows extremely well in the volcanic, porous soil on Santorini Island in Greece. The low yielding vines are 70 -80 years old and are planted on slopes with a south-east aspect close to the coastline
