Producer Note

Since the winery was founded in 1930 it has become one of the best producers in the region perfectly balancing tradition and innovation with quality and value. The estate comprises 60 hectares of well located vineyards under the watchful eye of oenologist Dott. Vittorio Festa. The low yields, rigorous grape selection, up-to-date vinification techniques and refined ageing of their red wines in oak barrels ensures a growing reputation for top-class wines. The Bove style showcases elegant, fragrant white wines and well-textured, mellow reds delivering good typicity from the native Montepulciano grape - a vine of undeniable distinction that can make wines of irresistible character with a capacity to age and supple, smooth wines eminently drinkable when young.

Vineyard

The Estate comprises 60 hectares of well located vineyard which are cultivated under the watchful eye of oenologist Dr Vittorio Festa. The vines are trained according to the traditional overhead trellis system called Pergola Abruzzese and are grown in marl and clay soils. The grapes are rigorously selected at harvest time ensuring the optimum maturity and flavour profile have been met. The Bove style is to make well-textured, mellow reds showing good typicity from the native Montepulciano grape. Their Feudi d'Albe is made in an easy drinking style which may be drunk on its own or to accompany food while the Avegiano is rich with chunky fruit and firm tannins. Their flagship INDIO shows dense flavours with hints of chocolate and spice enhanced by oak ageing.

Winemaking

The grapes underwent skin maceration for one week, before fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine was left to mature for a further 12 months in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats. 15% was aged in oak, adding subtle complexity to the final blend. The wine sees an additional three months in bottle prior to release.

Tasting Note

Deep ruby red wine with aromas of red berries blackberries and black cherry. On the palate it is full-flavoured and pleasantly dry with a hint of liquorice. The soft tannins are well-balanced and lead to a satisfying finish.

Serving Suggestion

A delicious red that goes well with grilled red meats, game and full flavoured pasta dishes.
