The story of Bodegas Pinord started more than 150 years ago, when the Tetas family began to make wines on their estate in Penedes. They have now extended their family expertise to the heartland of Priorat, renowned for producing bespoke cult wines. Their Mas Blanc estate lies on steep slatey slopes, where the grapes are organically grown and hand harvesting is obligatory. A variety of different grapes are grown here, all benefiting from the night and day temperature variances which allows them to achieve great complexity. The winery is kitted out with all of the newest vinification equipment along with 250 new French, American and Bulgarian oak barriques.

Grapes: 50% Garnacha, 20% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vinification: The grapes are sourced from 7 different plots of land from the slatey soils of the vineyard. They are cultivated organically and harvested by hand. They then undergo careful maceration followed by ageing for 12 months in American and French oak barrels.

Tasting Note: Dark ruby red, dense black fruit and chocolate on the nose, full bodied yet with some freshness, well balanced and very silky with a long rich finish.

Serve: At room temperature with red meat, roasts or cheese.
