Southern Côtes du Rhône. The appellation covers the communes of Vacqueyras and Sarrians, South of the Rhône Valley. The vineyards are spread out at the foot of the scenic Dentelles de Montmirail, on the left bank of the Rhone, between Orange and the Massif du Ventoux.
Harvested by hand. Traditional vinification. Maceration in temperature-controlled tanks for a fortnight. Fermentation during which pigeages and pumping over are performed. Each grape variety is vinified separately and then assembled before ageing. The wines are aged on fine lees in oak barrels for 10 months.
At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail the terroir is composed of alluvial soils and Riss glacial terraces. The soil is a sandy clay with rolled gravel banks in places.
Beautiful fruity expression of redcurrant jelly, candied orange and spices. There are aromatic notes on the palate, with a tannic support that ensures length and balance to the wine.
Tasty meat such as roast lamb, prime rib eye steak, duck breast or game. Spicy recipes. Cheeses with strong flavours such Livarot, Munster, Maroilles, Epoisses, Langres, Ami du Chambertin, Soumaintrain.
60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre
