Producer Note

The wine comes from vineyards in the south west between Angers and Saumurs where most of the famous Loire Chateau are located. Anjou wines have been enjoyed in Europe since the 18th century.

Vineyard

Rosé d'Anjou is an appellation for rosé wines from the Anjou district of France's western Loire Valley wine region. The vineyard soils are made up of schist and shelly sand.

Winemaking

The grapes were gently pressed after a brief maceration to impart the delicate pink colour to the wine. Fermentation was not completed through to dryness in order to preserve a natural sweetness in the resulting wine.

Tasting Note

Coral pink in colour, this is a fruity rosé with strawberry flavours combined with hints of black pepper and a balanced sweetness.

Serving Suggestion

Serve chilled as an apéritif, with salads or cold meats. This rosé is delicious with spicy foods.

Grape

Grolleau 90%, Cabernet Franc 10%
