Sula produces modern wines of international standard. Young Indian entrepreneur, Rajeev Samant, believes that India has great potential to produce world class wines so he decided to establish vineyards and a winery in a prime location in Nashik. Sula is currently India's leading premium wine producer.

 

Tasting Note:             A full flavoured Shiraz. Dark purple colour, pronounced aromas of red cherries, sweet spices and peppers. Rich dark fruits on the palate, with eucalyptus. Medium to full bodied with good length.

Viticulture:                 Top class grapes are handpicked usually harvested at the end of winter (January–March), which helps to expose the crop to warm days and cool nights.

Soil Type:                  Well-drained light to heavier, clayey soils on hills of red laterite and basalt rock.

Fermentation:           The grapes were cold soaked and fermented between 25°-30°C with regular gentle pump overs. The wine is matured in French and American barriques for 1 year.
