Schloss Johannisberg in the Rheingau is a landmark and meeting point of culture and wine growing. A top-ranking 35 ha single vineyard wine estate and a monument to the history of wine. Schloss Johannisberg is the oldest Riesling estate in the world (100% Riesling since 1720). It is the home of the quality designations for German wine, especially for Spätlese (late harvest - invented in 1775) but also for Auslese (selected harvest - in 1787) and Eiswein (wine from frozen grapes - in 1858). The wines have gained their reputation as belonging to the finest produced in Germany. Their elegance, fruit and flavour delight the connoisseur and consumer alike.
