Recent home drinking

People often ask me what we drink at home so I thought I would put together something about what we are drinking each month.  We tend to have a fairly eclectic selection from both the Old World and the New World, and this month is no exception.

Rose

Cotes du Rhone Rose Les Cerisiers, France - dry yet creamy style of pale rose from the Rhone

Whites

Chateau Lestrille Entre deux Mers, France - lovely textural but crisp dry white made from Sauvignon Blanc with a little Muscadelle

Diluvio Albarino, Rias Baixas, Spain - plenty of minerality and good weight in the mouth.  A good accompaniment to fish dishes

Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina de Sannio, Campania, Italy - we love the whites particularly from this winery in the south of Italy

Saint Veran, Burgundy, France - we really don't think you can go wrong with this delicious white Burgundy (Chardonnay)

Circumstance Sauvignon Blanc, Stellenbosch, South Africa - organic and bio-dynamic this is similar in style to Loire Sauvignon Blanc

Reds

Chateau de la Tuilerie, Costieres de Nimes, France - this area can be a treasure trove of well made, well priced wines. Perfect with many beef dishes

Chateau Puy Guilhem, Fronsac, France - a very under-rated Bordeaux commune.  100% Merlot grapes so very approachable and from the excellent 2009 vintage

Balcons Priorat, Spain - a great multi layered, complex red to pair with many beef or duck dishes as it has lovely savoury notes

Toro de Piedra Reserva Carmenere/Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile - Chile produces really top quality reds as well as more humble drinking

Willunga 100 Shiraz/Viognier, Australia - a versatile mid week red as it goes with many dishes such as Chilli con Carne, Pasta Bolognese etc

Los Haroldos Reserva Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina - deliciously smooth Malbec which complements a rump cap steak perfectly

If you would like to try all of these wines, we are offering them as a special selection.  The selection of 12 bottles should cost £202.75 but it is on offer at £190.00.  Normal delivery charges apply.
