People often ask me what we drink at home so I thought I would put together something about what we are drinking each month. We tend to have a fairly eclectic selection from both the Old World and the New World, and this month is no exception. With the weather having been so sunny we have been drinking more rose that normal.
Champagne Cuvee de Reserve 1er Cru Marc Hebrart - delicious fine Pinot Noir dominant Champagne from Premier Cru vineyards
Saint Veran, Domaine Botti, Burgundy, France - one of our favourite whites from the Maconnais in the south of Burgundy
Vaquos Verdejo, Rueda, Spain - similar to Sauvignon Blanc but with a bit more character
Gymnasium Fritz Willi Riesling, Mosel, Germany - we love Riesling as it is so food friendly with its racing acidity and great fruit
Falconhead Pinot Gris, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand - proof that NZ produces great whites other than from Sauvignon Blanc
Circumstance Sauvignon Blanc, Stellenbosch, South Africa - a gentle style of organic Sauvignon which is eminently drinkable
Marques de Pluma Reserva, Ribera del Duero, Spain - bright fruit beautifully balanced with well integrated oak
Chateau Lestrille Capmartin, Bordeaux Superieur, France - we love claret and this Merlot dominant one is perfect with lamb
Clos de Mas Priorat, Spain - this Priorat is made in a fruit forward style so is not too heavy
Groot Constantia Pinotage, Constantia, South Africa - Pinotage can be quite variable but this one is superb
Potro de Piedra Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc, Chile - Chile produces really top quality reds such as this one
Los Haroldos Seleccion de Familia Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina - a delicious award winning Malbec which is complex and smooth
If you would like to try all of these wines, we are offering them as a special selection. The selection of 12 bottles should cost £197.45 but it is on offer at £185.00. Normal delivery charges apply.
