People often ask me what we drink at home so I thought I would put together something about what we are drinking each month. We tend to have a fairly eclectic selection from both the Old World and the New World, and this month is no exception. With the weather having been so sunny we have been drinking more rose that normal.
Les Cordeliers Exclusive Blanc Brut - an easy drinking fizz from Bordeaux
Saint Veran, Domaine Botti, Burgundy, France - a gentle rounded style of white which is ideal with lighter dishes
Gavi del Commune di Gavi Nuovo Quadro, Piedmont, Italy - a lovely textural style of Gavi made from the Cortese grape
Weingut Rabl Gruner Veltliner, Austria - we love Gruner Veltliner as it has such wonderful minerality
Piedra Blanca Verdejo, Rueda, Spain - Verdejo is a noble grape and is at its best from Rueda. This one has more texture then many.
Chateau de Campuget 1753 Syrah Vermentino Rose, France - the ideal Saturday lunchtime rose which works well with or without food
La Fleur Grands Landes, Montagne St Emilion, Bordeaux, France - we love claret and this Merlot dominant one is perfect with lamb
Crozes Hermitage Inspiration, Northern Rhone, France - spicy Syrah notes make this great with a barbecue or with any red meat
Cairanne, La Cote Sauvage, Rhone, France - a very underrated Rhone red which is wonderful with a perfectly cooked steak
Verum Seleccion de Familia Cabernet Franc, Patagonia, Argentina - this is an excellent example of a top quality Cabernet Franc
Los Haroldos Hermandad Malbec, Argentina - a delicious award winning Malbec which is complex and smooth
If you would like to try all of these wines, we are offering them as a special selection. The selection of 12 bottles should cost £171.55 but it is on offer at £160.00. Normal delivery charges apply.
