People often ask me what we drink at home so I thought I would put together something about what we are drinking each month. We tend to have a fairly eclectic selection from both the Old World and the New World, and this month is no exception.
Ferghettina Franciacorta Milledi, Italy - a really classy Methode Traditionelle fizz made from the Chardonnay grape
St Veran, Domaine Botti, France - a favourite White Burgundy of ours which is unoaked and with good fruit
Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina del Sannio, Italy - the Falanghina grape is aromaticn and is an absolute delight
Verum Sauvignon Blanc, Argentina - from Patagonia in the far south this is nicely herbaceous with a pleasing length
Tinpot Hut Turner Riesling, New Zealand - made by Fiona Turner, this is a fully dry Riesling which is really delicious
Diluvio Albarino, Spain - this example of Albarino has amazing minerality and rounded fruit
Marques de Pluma Crianza, Spain - one of our favourite reds from Ribera del Duero which is a high altitude area of Spain
Terrapieno Valpolicella Ripasso, Italy - a fairly rich red which is a very good food wine and is a bit like a baby Amarone!
Chateau Lestrille Capmartin, Bordeaux, France - we drank this with duck breast with a fruity sauce and it was a delicious match
Humo Blanco Reserve Syrah, Chile - a restrained style of Syrah which shows good fruit and subtle underlying spiciness
Algodon Malbec, Argentina - the Argentines make really great reds from Malbec which is perfect with steak!
Clos del Mas Priorat, Spain - a hand crafted organic and biodynamic fruit driven Priorat which is delicious with braised beef dishes
If you would like to try all of these wines, we are offering them as a special selection. The selection of 12 bottles should cost £175.95 but it is on offer at £164.00. Normal delivery charges apply.
