Lemon peel combines with orange, vanilla and hints of smokiness. Medium to full bodied with more citrus on the palate. It has heaps of minerality and good acidity keeping the mouth lively. The finish is clean with buttery elements.
Domaine Marc Morey was established in 1919 by Ferand Morey and has been passed through the generations to his son Marc, to the current young and talented winemaker Sabine Mollard, the daugher of Bernard Mollard and his wife, who is Marc Morey’s daughter. The old cellar lies under their magnificent home, which was a former coaching inn and Marc Morey's family home for 100 years. Domaine Marc Morey's wines have become world renowned since the mid-nineties, producing some of the finest Chassagne Montrachets.
Guyot trained vines. Great emphasis is put on working with nature, rigorous de-budding and green harvest to ensure that the vine's growth is perfectly balanced. Lutte raisonnée using only minimum treatments as required.
Fermentation starts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, it is then transferred into oak casks (25% new oak). Battonage on the fine lees up to the completion of the malolactic fermentation. Racked after 10 months in barrel, fined and filtered before bottling.
Chilled with shellfish, especially lobster and scallops.
