Run by two brothers married to two sisters, the Domaine Tabordet estate in Sancerre was expanded in 1988 to include 8 hectares in Pouilly-Fumé. This is located at Pouilly-sur-Loire in the Central Vineyards region of the Loire Valley.
Grapes: 100% Sauvignon BlancSoil: "Marne-Kimméridgien" chalky clay.Vinification: Pneumatic press then into temperature controlled tanks. The wine is aged for 6 months before bottling.
Colour: Pale yellow-gold exhibiting greenish tingesNose: Initially quite shy but opens out showing floral and dried fruit scents. Citrus fruits and yellow peaches afterwards.
Taste: A powerful, full-bodied wine with strong fruit flavours of apricots and peaches. A good length with citrus zest on the finish.Serve: Not too cold (12°C) with fish and seafood. Also makes a good aperitif.Cellaring: Best drunk 10-12 months after release but can be kept up to 4 years.
