Straw-coloured yellow full of golden highlights. The nose offers floral notes of mimosa and orange blossoms, accompanied by fruity perfumes of apple and pineapple. In the background are hints of citrus, honey, flint and candied fruit. Pleasingly luscious and fresh in the mouth.
A Florentine family with thirty generations dedicated to the production of great wines across six Tuscan estates. The Frescobaldi style brings together tradition and innovation. The Frescobaldis own over 1,000 hectares of vineyards, all located in excellent areas for the production of fine wines. The vines are grown in a sandy soil with strong presence of stones. It is rich in mineral elements and very well drained.
Fermentation took place in 50% new and 50% in one year French barriques. Fermentation lasted for 30 days with " batonnage" adding texture and complexity to the final wine. Part of the must was macerated for 12 hours at 5°C. Malolactic fermentation was for the most part carried out. The wine was matured in new and one year French barriques for 10 months with a further four months in bottle, prior to release.
Serve chilled to accompany grilled, seared or roasted lobster and scallops, guinea fowl, chicken with a rich sauce, wild mushrooms and white truffles.
