For more than 200 years the Schmitt family has been involved in the art of winemaking in the Mosel, passing on its knowledge and experience from generation to generation. In 1919 the company Schmitt Söhne was founded and today its headquarters at Longuish in the Mosel is the focal point for its world-wide activities.

The cellars have the most modern equipment and quality is a top priority. In addition to wines from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Schmitt can now offer a comprehensive list of Estate wines from other important German wine growing areas.

Notes:                   Piesporter Michelsberg is a very well known wine. The vines are grown on slate soil that is typical of the Mosel area. The fruity acidity, rather than alcohol, is the backbone of this wine and enhances its longevity.

Serve:                   Chilled at 10 – 12C. Ideal with fish, white meats, poultry or cheese.

Taste:                   A light, fresh, scented white wine. It has a hint of residual sweetness, balanced with a clean bite of fruity acidity.
