In the vineyard a warm dry summer provided a clean and disease free vintage with great ripening conditions across all regions. Despite some hot days, extended heat waves did not play a role during the growing season; there was little berry shrivel occurrence in white varieties. The fruit at harvest delivered excellent fruit concentration and varietal typicity.
Sourced from vineyards throughout the Riverina region. This wine is produced at Yenda, in the heart of Australia's Riverland, at Bob Berton's state-of-the-art winery, using grapes from trusted and skilful growers.
The fruit was harvested at approximately 11° Baumé in the cool of the night, retaining freshness. The grapes were crushed, destemmed and pressed. The juice from pressing was clarified before a slow fermentation at cool temperatures of 14 to 16°C took place over two weeks, using a carefully selected yeast to optimise varietal expression. Fermentation was arrested before it was dry, resulting in a lovely off dry sweetness. The wine was blended, stabilised and filtered for bottling.
A delicious off dry blend offering aromas of lime and lychee through to flavours of passionfruit, lime and fresh mint on a crisp palate. This is a fruity and flavoursome wine with a lovely zesty finish.
This wine is ideally suited to spicy Asian salads, chicken stir-fry or fruit salads.
