The Opal Ridge range of wines have been successfully developed over a number of years. This is a good quality wine produced by Berton vineyards, which has designer labelling and competitive pricing. There are four different styles of wines produced under this label.
Grapes: Gewürztraminer (48.3%), Verdelho (47.9%) and Frontignac (3.8%)
Viticulture: The grapes were sourced from Riverina (NSW) with small parcels from vineyards in South Australia and Victoria.
Winemaking: Cold fermented in stainless steel
Taste: Youthful light colour with vibrant lime glints. The nose offers up aromas of rose petal, glace lemon and exotic fruits. The palate is finely balanced between fruit intensity and palate freshness. It displays deep pure fruit flavours: lychees, honeydew melon and custard apple that are cut wonderfully by a fine refreshing acidity. Alc 12%, RS 10 g/l
Serve: This wine is ideally suited to spicy Asian salads and stir fris or fruit salad and dairy desserts.
