Flavours of ripe honeydew melon with a hint of sweetness, great with spicy food.
Launched in 2002, Monsoon Valley is owned by Siam Winery, one of the founders and innovators of the Thai wine industry. Monsoon Valley wines are made from perfectly ripened and carefully selected grapes at their Hua Hin Hills vineyard. The terrain of loamy-sand and slate and constant ocean breeze allow international grape varieties to thrive and produce aromatic, award-winning wines.
2015 was a dry and warm vintage resulting in fully ripened grapes with excellent flavour concentration and varietal typicity.
Made from Colombard vines which have been imported from Australia and France and Malaga White which is a Thai variety which is crisp and aromatic with a floral undertone. The vines are planted in an ancient elephant coral where deep sandy loam soil and slate create balanced and aromatic wines with the help of cooling ocean breezes.
The grapes were then gently pressed and the free run and pressed wines were cool fermented in temperature controlled tanks lasting between seven to 14 days. The wine did not go through malolactic fermentation, resulting in a crisp wine. Matured in stainless steel to retain the fresh style and purity of fruit.
Vibrant aromas of green apple and lime lead to a crisp, bright palate with a deliciously fruity finish.
Ideal with Asian food such as a spicy chicken noodle salad.
Colombard 50%, Malaga White 50%

Bought for a "wine from funny places" tasting - surprisingly full bodied and not as dry as expected. Balanced and prolonged chenin flavour.
