Tasting Note

This 100% Sárgamuskotály, or Muscat Blanc, has delicate aromas of elderflower, complemented by subtle hints of citrus fruit. Crisp with a vivid acidity, the fruity palate shows pears, gooseberries, a hint of pineapple and an intriguing touch of freshly cut grass. Quite delicious.

Producer Note

The Majoros Family Estate is located in one of the most significant and renowned communes of the Tokaj wine region, Tarcal, in a village situated at the base of Mount Tokai. Currently six hectares of vines are cultivated. László Majoros is one of the rising stars of Hungarian wine, producing some of the most talked about Furmints around, made from grapes grown in the volcanic soils of Tokaj.


A long hot summer encouraged ripe, healthy grapes, with high aromatic flavour profiles and lower levels of acidity.


Situated in the southernmost part of the Tokaj region, the vineyards are located around the Tarcal village. The specific vineyards used to create this wine were Baksó, Fekete-hegy, Dobai, Nagy-Kövesd and Agyag, each contributing a unique flavour profile to the final blend. The old vines have an average age of 30 years and are grown in volcanic soils which are made up of sandy-clay loess, stones from Andezit and Dacit periods and limestone. The vines are farmed using sustainable practices and without the use of fertilisers. The harvest takes place in several waves to obtain different ratios of acidity and sugar ripeness, resulting in a balanced wine.


The healthy berries were harvested in mid September and were transferred immediately to the winery. The grapes underwent a cool maceration with skin contact for six hours, to extract high quality antioxidants and fine tannins. Only the free run juice was used, which was cool fined at 6°C. Fermentation took place with selected natural yeasts which were developed by the local wine institute, in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.

Serving Suggestion

Serve chilled at 7 to 8°C as the perfect spring and summer time apéritif, also an ideal accompaniment to fresh seafood dishes, poultry, Asian inspired cuisine or fruit salads.
