A rich, luscious nose with lots of intense fruit and good depth. The complexity is reflected in the creamy palate that has good fruit, fine integrated oak and a nutty component. Very stylish.
One of the greatest producers in Southern Burgundy, the Joblot family has been producing fine wines for over three generations. They own 14 hectares of vineyards in four red and two white Premier Cru areas in Givry and lay great emphasis on vineyard management with small yields. Their total production is 6,000 cases per annum. The wines are vinified with a high proportion of new barriques resulting in powerful but elegant wines of top class quality. These sought after wines have limited availability.
Low yielding Guyot trained vines.
50% was fermented in new French oak barrels, 40% in 1 year old barrels and 10% in stainless steel. The various parcels were then blended and aged for 12 months in barriques.
