Feudi di San Gregorio Greco di Tufo 'Cutizzi' 2015, DOCG Campania

Tasting notes

Vibrant wine with classic pear and greengage fruit. Full bodied on the palate with a lively acidity and peachy minerality, very typical of the region.

Matthew Jukes writes

Feudi di San Gregorio, Cutizzi, Greco di Tufo, 2015

"This is my favourite incarnation of the Greco grape in the world.  It is dramatically scented, bone dry and marvelously luxurious and I would venture that this is one of the best ‘fish’ wines on the planet.  This is what the super-rich drink on their holidays and you can enjoy it, too, for fifteen quid.  It’s a small price to pay for this degree of splendour."

Producer note

One of the main protagonists in the renaissance of southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio has carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years. The company began in the mid-1980s with the aim of safeguarding local traditions, unlocking the potential of key indigenous grapes (Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, Aglianico) and rediscovering less planted grapes such as Syrica.

Vineyard note

The beautiful Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are spread out over lush and gentle hills in Sorbo Serpico, about an hour from Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The soils are uniquely volcanic, sandstone and marl. Each vineyard is closely monitored with a meteorological station, and the technologies of the new state-of-the-art wine cellar ensures that each vintage comes as close to perfection as possible.
