Bodegas Pinord is a family business which was founded 150 years ago. Since then, generation after generation, year after year, the wines produced by the family have been growing in prestige, the indigenous varieties have improved markedly, and the family name has become inseparably linked to the Penedés area where they are based.
The Penedés district is situated between Barcelona and Tarragona, with the mountains of Montserrat marking the border in the north and the Mediterranean in the South. The soil is varied, contrasting from chalky clay to sandstone with distinct differences in depth so that the vines may take root. The mild Mediterranean climate is ideal for growing vines, indeed there is evidence that the Romans planted vineyards here. The slightly wetter weather in the valleys means that there is no need for irrigation.
The Marrugat family offers you this Cava, Rima 32, which is made with two of the finest and most elegant grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
With these varieties the family wanted to give the product different connotations and a higher expression. They have developed a product which they are sure both their most purist friends and customers and the most innovative and daring customers will like. They play with the elegance, freshness, fruitiness and body of Chardonnay, and the elegance, structure and smoothness provided by Pinot Noir, all linked with the aromas provided by the long ageing process, such as: vanilla, wood and chocolate.
This wine has been matured for a minimum of 36 months, so the flavours are well integrated and mature. It is a Brut Nature wine so has had no sugar added to the dosage, making it fully dry and very elegant. The mousse is very fine and persistent. The nose is complex, powerful and intense. In the mouth it has a pleasant freshness, and at the same time a great deal of body and persistence making it a Cava of great personality and prestige.
