Sancerre Rose Domaine Tabordet 2009

Run by two brothers married to two sisters, the Domaine Tabordet estate in Sancerre was expanded in 1988 to include 8 hectares in Pouilly-Fumé. This is located at Pouilly-sur-Loire in the Central Vineyards region of the Loire Valley.

Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir

Soil: Chalky clay.

Vinification: Pneumatic pressing of the grapes then fermented in temperature controlled tanks. The wine is aged for 3 months before bottling.

Colour: Bright salmon pink

Nose: Intense nose marked by liquorice notes with lacteal aromas and red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries.

Taste: A supple attack. A round and fruity wine with a crisp finish.

Serve: Not too cold (12°C) with paté, hors d’oeuvres and salads. Also makes a good aperitif.

Cellaring: Best drunk within 24 months after release.
