The archetypal southern French wine. Lashings of blackcurranty Cabernet tango with the heady scented Syrah to form a garrigue-like medley of flavours. Sud de France in a glass.
What a great concept - a Tour of the South of France - get out the vélo and let's join the touriste-routiers. But why be part of the peloton when you can attack from the front, and make wine which really matters and offer wine lovers liberté de choix? Hence, among the delights on offer here is a beautiful Picpoul de Pinet - the fish wine - a vivacious Grenache Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc blend and a quite beautiful and unusual Grenache/Pinot Noir blend.
All of the wines for Tournee du Sud were sourced from a carefully selected range of suppliers across the south of France during repeated visits in the spring and summer of 2014, followed by more visits during the harvest. The Cabernet Syrah blend was put together at Argillieres. The final wine was blended by Beverly Tabbron MW and Steve Daniel at the end of last year.
Will match any strong flavoured food including hearty cassoulet type dishes and strong cheeses.
Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Syrah 40%
