Tasting Note

Complex aromas of forest fruits lie on a symphony of oak, vanilla, cinnamon, toffee, spices and leather. Powerful on the palate, with fruit forward flavours of blackberry and plum backed by fruity tannins followed by an eternal finish. Maximum expression without excess.

Producer Note

Bodegas y Viñedos del Linaje Garsea is a family-owned winery founded by Gabriel Garcia Martinez who used his knowledge and winemaking skills to set up the company two generations ago. The new winery was built in 2003 3km from Aranda and is run by Gabriel Garcia Perez. Care for the vines and respect for nature are central to the family philosophy.


The Tinta Del Pais vines are old bush vines, varying between 43 and 55 years old, while the Tempranillo vines are trellised and have an average age of 23 years. The vines are grown in chalky clay soils and are naturally irrigated by rainfall. The grapes are hand harvested by family members into containers of 12 kilograms, in order to protect the grapes.


Maceration took place for three to four days, prior to the fermentation process. The wine was pumped over three times per day to break the cap and extract the richest colour possible. The alcoholic fermentation lasted between seven and nine days, at controlled temperatures of between 27 to 29°C. Natural malolactic fermentation took place and the wine was then clarified using albumen. The wine was not filtered. Aged in barrels, of which 45% was American oak, 45% French oak and 10% a combination of Hungarian and Spanish oak, for a period of 17 months.

Serving Suggestion

Perfect with Spanish inspired cuisine especially lamb or pork dishes with red peppers, beans, infused with garlic and saffron; chorizo, meatballs and roasted Mediterranean vegetables.
