The nose is full of red berry, black cherry and violets. On the palate, the fruit is remarkably precise and nicely taut. The finish is clean with lots of power without too much weight. Good minerality, length, a classic, classy Pinot Noir.
One of the greatest producers in Southern Burgundy, the Joblot family has been producing fine wines for over three generations. They own 14 hectares of vineyards in four red and two white Premier Cru areas in Givry and lay great emphasis on vineyard management with small yields. Their total production is 6,000 cases per annum. The wines are vinified with a high proportion of new barriques resulting in powerful but elegant wines of top class quality. These sought after wines have limited availability.
Low yielding Guyot trained vines.
Fermentation in stock vats. The wine was then matured in Allier oak barrels (2/3 new) for 14 months, followed by 4 months in bottle prior to release.
At 15°C-16°C with terrines, cold meats, grilled and roast meats, poultry and firm cheese.
