One of the pioneers of the modern Greek wine revolution Gaia Estate was established in 1994 by Greek winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos. Operating two different wineries they make cutting edge wines in both Nemea and Santorini.

Tasting Note:      

Perfumed nose of dark berry fruits and floral notes. Medium bodied palate with subtle tannins, well integrated, with hints of pepper overlaid with silky blueberry fruits. Long, velvety finish - a wine not to be missed.

Variety:                  70% Agiorgitiko, 30% Syrah

Viticulture:             Hand-picked grapes blend of native Agiorgitiko variety with Syrah both sourced from the south west slopes of Koutsi, Nemea.

Fermentation:       The grapes were cold soaked then slowly fermented in oak casks to ensure a good level of colour and flavour was extracted. The wine was then matured for 12 to 14 months in new French oak casks.
