Cotes du Rhone "Est Ouest" 2016 - Andre Brunel

A family owned Estate comprising of 22 hectares in Chateauneuf du Pape and 11 hectares in the Cotes du Rhone. Andre Brunel makes wines from Estate grown grapes as well as grapes from his neighbouring growers that he tends in the vineyards. Brunel's hallmark is fruit emphasis with balanced tannins and the fruit flavours lingering through to a long finish.

Grape Varieties: 70% Grenache, 25 % Syrah and 5% local varieties

Age of Vines: 15-25 years old planted on the stony terraces of the right bank of the river Rhone.

Note: Andre Brunel made this "assemblage" from neighbouring growers' vineyards.

Vinification: Fermentation took place at 28-32C in temperature controlled tanks lasting 10-12 days. The wines were blended in January and bottled in March following vintage.

Tasting Notes:  Spicy with very juicy, ripe fruit with an almost "up front" character. The wine has a good structure, ripe tannins and balanced acidity and shows true character of the Rhone.
