Situated at the heart of the most prestigious wine area in the world, the commune of St-Etienne de Lisse lies 8 km West of St-Emilion. Nine hectares of vines are grown on three different terroirs which are vinified separately in order to preserve their distinct characteristics. The majority of these vines are Merlot, with approximately 30% being Cabernet Franc. They also grow a small quantity of Malbec. Vines are replanted regularly to ensure a continuous supply of old vines for the future.
Grapes: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and a little touch of Malbec.
Soil: Clay and Limestone with more Limestone in the hilly areas.
Vinification: Each parcel of grapes are picked and vinified separately. The wines are traditionally vinified, with a high proportion of the must destined for the Grand Cru wine coming from the superior vin de presse. The wines are aged in oak barriques for elegance and complexity.
Winemaker: Xavier Minvielle.
Taste: The style is rounded with a hint of jamminess and with full, but soft tannins.
Serve: Between 16-18°C with red meats, game and soft cheese. This wine shows good ageing potential
