May Tasting InfoDear Friend May has been a busy month so far and it has only just begun really! The website has been nice and busy especially with orders for our Spanish wines and especially the Clos de Torribas Crianza, which has rapidly become our best selling red wine! In addition, lots of people snapped up our Australian and New Zealand offers last month which was great. We have also been tasting lots of new wines in preparation for our Spring Wine Tasting next Thursday at the Saxon Mill in Warwick, and we have chosen some delicious ones to show. We have chosen to concentrate on Europe for this tasting and have found some wonderful Southern French wines plus an un-filtered Chablis which has great body and minerality. We have also been tasting plenty of Italian wines for the tasting, many of which are on special offer for the month of May. We were bowled over by a delightful Vermentino from the Costa di Nugola estate near Livorno on the Tuscan coast, owned by the Frescobaldi family. Can you believe that the Frescobaldi wine business is now in the hands of the 30th generation of the family!! We also love their Nipozzano Chianti Rufina Riserva which is shown on our monthly offers page at www.winepoole.co.uk along with all the other great deals. We have also been talking to a number of sports clubs, charities and wine clubs about doing tastings for them later in the year, which we always enjoy as it is great to get feedback on our wines. Those of you who have looked at our dates for tastings on previous emails, may have spotted the addition of the event planned at the Lord Leycester Hospital. We are both pleased and priviledged to be working alongside CORD again (local charity based in Leamington - those of you who came to our "Toilet Twinning" lunch may recall them!) and to be holding the event in such an historic building. We are hoping that the owner of Pinord winery in Penedes will be coming to talk at the evening as well, which should be fun. Anyway I do not wish to take any more of your valuable time, but hope to see you next Thursday.
