March is already pretty busy and destined to get a lot busier.  We have plenty of events and tastings lined up for this month including our monthly appearance at Seasons Restaurant in Leamington Spa where this month we will be tasting wines from Chile.  Last month we showed seven different Argentinean wines which were all very popular, so it will be interesting to see how the Chilean wines are liked.  It is taking place on Wednesday 16th so if you are interested in going please phone Pam on 01926 424340. 

We are also fortunate in welcoming back our dear friend Rosa Maria Jose of Pinord winery in Penedes to do a tutored tasting with us at Catalan Restaurant in Warwick on Tuesday 22nd where we will be tasting seven wines from Pinord's portfolio including the stunning +7 Priorat.  These will all be tasted alongside carefully chosen tapas so if you would like tickets please phone Malcolm on 01926 498930. 

The following day we are hosting a charity lunch in aid of Cord, for which we are hoping to get thirty people.  Tickets have been selling steadily and cost £15.00 each and all of the money raised will go to Cord's work in some of the most war torn areas of the world where they help the local population to rebuild their lives. 

On Saturday 26 March we are giving a short presentation and tasting of wines from Clos Montblanc winery before Warwick Hockey Club's Auction of Promises.  We have been sponsors of Warwick Hockey Club for a couple of years and are delighted to be able to work with them once again on an event.  They are a great group of people and they work very hard to keep a really cohesive club spirit.  There are some wonderful promises in the auction which can be viewed at www.auctionofpromises.com and at only £5.00 per person we believe the places will go quickly.  The evening is being held at The Warwick Arms Hotel from 7.00pm and tickets are available by email from chairman@warwickhockey.co.uk

We have been busy loading some new products this month including some magnums - one of which is a lovely dry rose from Chateau de Campuget in the Rhone Valley and the other two are magnums of two of our popular wines from Pinord, their Clos de Torribas Crianza and Chateldon Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva.  A magnum makes a stunning gift and is perfect for when you are entertaining.

Monthly specials are Carmen Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2009 from Chile which is reduced from £8.54 to £7.76 and Clos 15 Merlot 2007 from Spain which is reduced from £8.70 to £7.90.  Both are ideal wines to go with the slightly lighter foods of Spring so why not give them a try!  Normal delivery charges apply.  We also have a full and eclectic range of wines, including some which are only available through us, so please take a few moments to look at our website http://www.winepoole.co.uk/monthly-specials.html  and to forward this email to any friends and colleagues who may be interested.
