India has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and it is one in which the number of affluent consumers is increasing enormously. India has for some years had a small wine industry, but this is now growing and people are starting to sit up and take notice. Rajeev Samant of Sula Wines has been travelling all over the world gathering information and spreading the word about Indian wines. The result is that Sula wines are now being served in some of the best Indian restaurants in a number of the major cities of the world, such as London, New York, San Francisco and Paris to name just a few.
Since the turn of the century Sula wines have improved year on year, partly as a result of the vines being older, but also because of improved viticultural practice and vinification techniques. We list four of their wines and suggest that you try them next time you eat curry as they really drink well with such food.
