For more than 200 years the Schmitt family has been involved in the art of winemaking in the Mosel, passing on its knowledge and experience from generation to generation. In 1919 the company Schmitt Söhne was founded and today its headquarters at Longuish in the Mosel, is the focal point for its world-wide activities.

The cellars have the most modern equipment and quality is a top priority. In addition to wines from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Schmitt can now offer a comprehensive list of Estate wines from other important German wine growing areas.

Schmitt Söhne’s business strategy places considerable emphasis on providing a comprehensive wine portfolio that can be developed and further enhanced with innovative promotions and merchandising support.

Notes:                              Nierstein is situated in the Rheinhessen area. Rheinhessen extends over an area of about 25,000 hectares which is a quarter of the total German wine growing area. The soil is heavy and very fertile. The climate is harmonious with warm summers and mild winters. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks.

Serve:                              Chilled at 10 to 12C with fish and poultry dishes.

Tasting Notes:                 A medium dry, delightfully fragrant, fruity wine from the Rheinhessen area with a hint of residual sweetness on the finish.
