The Domaine
With its 25 acres, the domaine is situated between the crus of Régnié and Morgon. Bernard Striffling, both a winegrower and agricultural engineer, has been the proud owner of the domain de l'Oseraie since 1978. Today, while he works as an executive in the insurance business, he is also training his younger son to take his place and assure that the transition of winemakers will be a tremendous success for the domain.
The Terroir: 100% Gamay, red grape with white juice.
Exposure south/southeast at approximately 1,100 feet above the sea levelAverage age of the vines is 40 years old, with a moderate output of 45 to 50 hectolitres per hectareGoblet pruning is utilized with 10,000 planted vines per acre under sustainable farming techniques.
VinificationThe grapes are harvested manually and rigorously sorted before arriving at Beaujolais cellar of Quincié first, and then carefully sorted again at the cellar.Traditional Beaujolais methods are utilized including strict temperature controls during the Cuvaison (time spent in tank) preserving the natural flavor and characteristics of the Gamay.
DescriptionColour is bright red with a nose of filled with cherries and black fruits.The palate, marked with round tannins, is well-structured. Best consumed young up to 3 or 4 years after bottling.
