Highly acclaimed, highly quaffable Champagne.Tasting NoteThis Champagne shows a fine mousse in the glass (meaning delicate bubbles as opposed to airy Angel Delight!) and attractive pink colour, and it is good fruity stuff with ripe strawberry and vanilla rolling over your tongue. That is enhanced by classic baked biscuit flavours and crisp yeastiness.Producer DetailsThe Gremillet estate comprises of 33 hectares of vineyards and is situated in a small village 45 kilometres from Troyes, the historic capital of Champagne, 180 kilometres south of Paris. The vines lie on steep, sun-drenched hillsides, ideal for creating a classic baked biscuit, rich fruit Champagne. In The VineyardThe Pinot Noir grapes are pressed for up to 2 hours to extract the jus de presse, then vinified and blended to give this delicate and delicious rosé Champagne. Champagne must age for a minimum of 15 months before release. Gremillet age all their Rosé Champagnes for a minimum of 24 months to ensure that the wines are not too young and have married all the elements.Food RecommendationsQuaff liberally well chilled but also perhaps with fruit or mild cheeses.Awards & Press"The strawberry fruit is so sweet it tastes almost honeyed ... The palate is very rich with concentrated fruit and integrated flavours. A lovely style. 87 points"Wine magazine, May 1999
