Domaine des Pourthie Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Domaine de Pourthie is an estate of 60 hectares, situated near Agde, a few kilometres from the Mediterranean. It is now in the hands of the fourth generation of the Pourthié family. The vineyards are located on a ridge formed during the Ice Age, where the soils are gravelly clay and limestone. The Mediterranean warmth and sea breezes combined with the terroir, help to ripen the grapes harmoniously and maximise their aromas. The winery has recently been updated with modern equipment, leading to more sophisticated methods of vinification. The wines are classically styled Languedoc wines.

Grapes: 100% Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon

Soil: Gravelly clay- limestone soil, formed during the Ice Age, spread with deposits from the old Herault riverbed.
