Alluring aromas of barley sugar with a rich flavour of honey and sweet stewed apple.
Launched in 2002, Monsoon Valley is owned by Siam Winery, one of the founders and innovators of the Thai wine industry. Monsoon Valley wines are made from perfectly ripened and carefully selected grapes at their Hua Hin Hills vineyard. The terrain of loamy-sand and slate and constant ocean breeze allow international grape varieties to thrive and produce aromatic, award-winning wines.
A dry and warm vintage, which resulted in the grapes reaching full maturity and excellent conditions for a beautiful raisining process.
The vineyards are located on the Hua Hin Hills estate. The vines, which have been imported from Australia and France, are planted in an ancient elephant coral where deep sandy loam soil and slate create balanced and aromatic wines with the help of cooling ocean breezes.
Raisined grapes were soaked in their juice for five hours to extract sweetness and flavour. The grapes were then gently pressed and the juice was settled overnight. Slow fermentation took place at carefully monitored cool temperatures. Fermentation was arrested by chilling down the wine, resulting in a sweet wine. A small proportion was aged in oak to add subtle complexity; the remainder was aged in stainless steel to retain the freshness.
Rich aromas of sweet dried fruits combine with delicate hints of honey and quince, which are balanced by a lovely acidity on the palate.
Sticky toffee pudding, crème caramel or almond tart.
Chenin Blanc 100%
