A clear, amber colour with hints of gold. The nose is powerful and woody, with hints of cocoa, prune and grilled almonds. On the palate, complex, powerful and tightly- structured with dried figs, honey, caramel, prune, candied orange and vanilla aromas. The tannins are delicious and well-rounded. The overall effect is one of harmony and refinement, with an exceptional length of flavour, delicious notes of salted caramel on the finish.

Seperate fermentation of both white and red varieties with the red undergoing a long maceration period. Fermentation is halted before the yeasts have the time to convert all of the sugar into alcohol to retain sweetness. The wines are then matured in wooden tuns, casks or barrels for 9 to 12 months before being blended and transferred to vats to age. This particular wine has been aged for over fifty years.
