A busy weekend looms for us as we will be applying the UK Excise Duty Budget increases to the retail prices on our website - so plenty of coffee will be required then!  We are merely passing on the 18p per bottle on still wine and 22p per bottle on sparkling wine which is being charged to us. 

We have a couple of very popular wines on offer this month:

St Clair Sauvignon Blanc 2010, New Zealand  £12.05 reduced to £10.95
St Clair Merlot 2007, New Zealand  £12.05 reduced to £10.95

The Sauvignon Blanc is a wine which has won more awards than any other NZ wine and is one of our best selling whites, whilst the Merlot is from some of the sunniest vineyards in Marlborough resulting in the grapes getting much riper than many red grapes in NZ so the wine is much rounder and softer than most.

Many people are reluctant to experiment with different wines and with very good reason, since it can be both disappointing and expensive.  The ideal solution is to come to a wine tasting where for just £7.50 each you can taste 30+ wines, some of which you would not ordinarily encounter.  We will be showing a totally eclectic selection of wines, including some new wines from South Africa, Italy and India to name but a few.  The event is at the Saxon Mill in Warwick on Thursday 5 May and will run from 6.30pm until 9.00pm and it is a case of coming anytime between these times, though we advise that you allow about an hour to do the tasting justice.  Numbers are limited for this event so don't delay, please book your tickets on line at www.winepoole.co.uk or by phone 01926 490970.
